Thanks to My Personal Finance Blogging Peers for the Recent Love

I’ve been feeling a lot of love recently, and I’m grateful for it. Just when I’m feeling down, and a little unsure, I head to FinCon12 and gain a little clarity, motivation, and feel a little love. Recently, I’ve felt blessed to be recognized by my personal finance blogging peers. We all like to feel appreciated, and I want to thank everyone who voted for me in various contests, and those who have been kind enough to help me along the way.

Here is some of the love I’ve felt recently:

  • Plutus Award: For those of you who don’t know, Plutus was the god of wealth in ancient Greece and Rome. So it makes sense that the awards for personal finance blogging are named after this deity. I was excited to win the Best New Personal Finance Blog award. Thanks to Luke (Flexo) of Consumerism Commentary for starting the awards, and for organizing them (and letting me be on the planning committee). And thanks to my peers for the kind recognition.
  • PF Olympics: The awesome people at Bankrate launched a contest prior to FinCon. The PF Olympics offered a chance for writers to show their skills. I didn’t get the gold medal, or silver medal, but I did tie for the bronze. Thanks to all the people who voted for my article, and who showed support Every. Single. Day. of that competition.
  • Better Know a Blogger: Ready For Zero created a series highlighting bloggers attending FinCon. I feel honored to have been included. Many of the people on the list are those that I look up to and admire, and it was awesome to read their stories, and learn words of wisdom from them.
  • NerdWallet Best Investing Blogs: Just recently, NerdWallet put together a list of best investing blogs to read. Thanks for including this blog as one of the best blogs for beginning investors. I’m thrilled that I would be recognized along with great bloggers who cover investing topics.

So, thanks for all the recent love. I’m so grateful to be a part of such a great community.
